About the role#
As a Product Manager intern for Residential Energy Engineering, you will help define the future of our home energy products. You will work across hardware and software teams to shape the development of products like Powerwall, Solar, and Wall Connector. This role involves balancing technical constraints with user needs to ensure our energy solutions are effective and accessible.
What you'll do#
- Define product requirements for new hardware and software features by working closely with engineering teams.
- Identify gaps in existing functionality and prioritize high value use cases.
- Make recommendations on product and experience trade-offs.
- Conduct market intelligence, customer feedback, and techno-economic analysis to guide product decisions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external customers to define the ideal user experience.
- Develop go to market strategies for new hardware and software launches.
- Keep leadership informed on timeline risks, product trade-offs, and key decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program or a related field.
- Understanding of global energy storage markets.
- Experience working directly with engineering, sales, and business development teams.
- Direct experience with solar, energy storage, home charging, electrical concepts, and home construction.
- Comfort working with large datasets.
- Ability to present complex problems and solutions clearly to an executive audience.
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong attention to detail and a drive to make things happen.
Location & details#
- Location: Palo Alto, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Spring 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour plus benefits.
