About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. You will work on-site with field service engineers to gain practical experience with heavy industrial machinery. The role involves direct exposure to steelmaking equipment, including CNC roll-grinding machines and precision mechanical systems. You will shadow senior engineers in field environments to learn industry best practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the installation, calibration, repair, and commissioning of CNC roll-grinding machines.
- Support mechanical and hydraulic inspections, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
- Participate in safety checks, project site organization, and equipment condition verification.
- Take part in precision alignment activities for large mechanical castings and rollers.
- Help prepare technical reports and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Genuine interest in industrial equipment, mechanical systems, or CNC machinery.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to steel plant sites. A valid driver’s license is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with exposure to CAD or technical drawing tools as a plus.
