About the role#
The Radiology Tech Student Extern is a temporary, per diem position responsible for supporting technologists and healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care. This role involves maintaining clinical areas, preparing equipment, and facilitating patient transport while adhering to regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
What you'll do#
- Clean and set up exam rooms and imaging equipment.
- Organize daily work assignments and verify patient identification.
- Explain procedures to patients and assist with their comfort.
- Transfer patients to and from beds and wheelchairs.
- Position patients on equipment for exams.
- Communicate patient care needs and special transport requirements between Nursing and other departments.
- Maintain the supply room.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Radiology Program.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
