About the role#
The Radiology Student Extern role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting at Saint Francis Hospital. Working under the direct supervision of a registered imaging technologist, you will perform tasks and procedures previously learned in the classroom and practiced during clinical rotations. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist technologists with imaging procedures and position patients for specified X-Ray exams according to department protocols.
- Prepare written documentation as required by hospital policies to record patient history related to their course of care in radiology.
- Ensure equipment functions properly and maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
- Adhere to established departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with Radiologists to support the smooth operation of the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in good standing in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Valid BLS Certification.
- Computer skills for working on PACS digital imaging systems.
