About the role#
This internship position is part of the Connected Living Solutions business unit. You will work on connectivity and sensor technologies for smart home applications, including kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, lighting, and energy management. This is a full-time, paid role based in Middletown, Pennsylvania, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Create concepts and prototypes for new products for outdoor lighting and industrial connectivity.
- Redesign existing products to reduce material use and lower CO2 emissions.
- Develop new design concepts and present them to internal teams and external customers.
- Coordinate the creation of prototypes to show proof of concept.
- Create design of experiment plans to test products in various stress states.
- Prepare and participate in design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis, and quality planning.
- Interface with the global team for customer design reviews, testing, and manufacturability reviews.
- Learn about simulation techniques used in early product development.
- Work with team members on sustainability and cost-saving projects.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently enrolled in or pursuing a BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related major.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Equivalent work experience or gap year student status may be considered.
- Prior internship experience or completion of a major project is preferred.
