About the role#
We are looking for a student intern to support construction and engineering projects. You will gain hands-on experience by working with planners, engineers, and project teams. This role involves field observations, project coordination, cost estimating, and documentation. You will contribute to the safe delivery of energy infrastructure projects while building professional relationships and developing your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Visit construction sites to observe operations and assist with inspections.
- Monitor project progress and support the assessment of project requirements.
- Assist with safety and quality control activities.
- Collaborate with project coordinators and engineers on execution tasks.
- Assist with cost estimating, subcontractor bid solicitation, and bid evaluation.
- Perform material quantity takeoffs and review contractor cost proposals.
- Prepare progress reports, change orders, and requests for information.
- Conduct research on construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
- Participate in professional development sessions and team collaboration opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Engineering degree program with a focus in Construction.
- Completion of at least one academic term before May 2027.
- Intent to return to full-time studies immediately after the work term.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of construction project management processes.
- Experience with cost estimating, material takeoffs, or contractor bid analysis.
- Willingness to work on active construction sites.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze information and handle ambiguity.
- A commitment to safety and continuous personal development.

- Location: Rayne, Louisiana.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 2027 to August 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
