About the role#
As a Regulatory Analyst Intern on the Environmental Commodities team, you will help translate policy developments into clear guidance and market insights. You will work alongside traders, compliance specialists, and logistics teams to help the business understand emerging rules, manage regulatory risk, and identify new opportunities in environmental commodity markets. This is an 8-month, paid, full-time contract.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate daily with traders, compliance operations, logistics, and regulatory team members to align deal structures with current regulations.
- Monitor, interpret, and summarize renewable energy and cap-and-trade rules to flag upcoming changes.
- Investigate and build comparative frameworks for new compliance-credit programs.
- Quantify credit generation and deficit pathways while assessing eligibility requirements.
- Produce briefing notes, dashboards, and decision memos that highlight market impacts.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, environmental markets, regulatory analysis, finance, or data analytics.
- At least 1 year of experience in energy, sustainability, environmental markets, regulatory or policy analysis, or engineering consulting.
- A demonstrated understanding of European climate policy, including renewable energy and emissions.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
