About the role#
This is a paid, full-time, hands-on summer internship for 2027. You will receive a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working alongside mentors and store managers. The program focuses on developing your leadership skills while you learn the fundamentals of retail business and store operations. You will spend your time on the salesfloor and in the backroom, leading team members and driving store priorities.
What you'll do#
- Lead and motivate a team to achieve daily business goals.
- Drive sales results, merchandise products, and build displays.
- Provide exceptional service to guests and resolve their concerns.
- Align your team on daily priorities and lead team huddles.
- Partner with store leaders to coach team members and provide performance feedback.
- Review business reports and guest insights to identify opportunities.
- Participate in training activities and foster an inclusive, safe, and secure culture.
- Propose new ideas and solutions to improve store operations.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in retail management.
- Leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to manage your own workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Effective communication skills and a welcoming attitude toward guests and colleagues.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology, including handheld scanners and communication devices.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to access all areas of the store, climb ladders, and scan or move merchandise weighing up to 44 pounds.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
This internship is on-site at locations in Reading, Chambersburg, Rockaway, York, Harrisburg, Dickson City, Quakertown, and Muncy. It is a full-time position.
