About the role#
Tampa Bay Sun FC is looking for interns to join our marketing, social media, and communications team for the 2027 season. This role offers hands-on experience in the sports industry, focusing on fan engagement and community outreach. You will act as a club ambassador at matches and events to build relationships with fans and stakeholders. This position is eligible for college credit, and a stipend may be provided for hours worked beyond academic requirements.
What you'll do#
- Join the Sun Squad hype team on matchdays to energize the crowd by running flags, tossing t-shirts, and using props.
- Brainstorm, write, and edit content for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Capture photos and video at events for use across digital channels.
- Draft player and staff bios, email newsletters, and other digital marketing materials.
- Write press releases, blog posts, and event recaps to support internal and external communications.
- Assist with media relations and press coordination during events.
- Promote the Tampa Bay Sun Foundation through storytelling and social campaigns.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and work across departments to execute marketing initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and a creative, self-starting mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Customer service skills that help you maintain a positive image for the club.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, including all home games and special events.
- Current enrollment as a student, ideally seeking college credit.
