About the role#
Swank Motion Pictures is looking for an Accounting Intern to join the Finance team for the Summer 2027 term. This role offers hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle, including rotations in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. You will work alongside accounting professionals to learn financial processes, internal controls, and reporting while contributing to projects that improve operational accuracy.
What you'll do#
- Process customer payments and maintain account records.
- Support account reconciliations and research payment discrepancies.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections.
- Prepare customer invoices, credit memos, and related documentation.
- Analyze aging reports and identify collection trends.
- Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Support weekly payment processing and maintain vendor records.
- Assist with expense report reviews.
- Participate in month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
- Support projects focused on process improvement and automation.
- Collaborate with team members across Finance and other departments.
- Present a summary of your accomplishments and recommendations to Finance leadership at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Rising Sophomore or Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and charts.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Interest in financial modeling, business analytics, or corporate strategy.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to take initiative.
