About the role#
As a Structured Material Industrialization Co-op, you will support teams across product industrialization, strategic materials management, and laboratory operations. This role involves hands-on work with chemicals and samples while contributing to safety stewardship and operational improvement initiatives. You will gain exposure to product development, supply chain, and manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate component specifications, documentation, and stakeholder feedback.
- Manage chemical, sample, and laboratory supply data.
- Support inventory audits, incoming chemical processing, and waste management activities.
- Implement laboratory safety and organizational improvements.
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the release of structured material components.
- Identify and implement process improvements for data, equipment, and laboratory operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Energy, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in product industrialization, materials management, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of chemical safety and laboratory practices.
- Ability to work hands-on with chemicals, samples, and laboratory supplies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Location & details#
- Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 (January 2027 to August 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: CAD $3,400 to $4,650 per month.
- Employment: Full-time co-op position.
