About the role#
Sundt Construction is hiring an intern for our Heavy Industrial and Mining division. This role is designed for students in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Management programs who want practical experience on active job sites. You will work alongside our project teams to learn how we build large-scale projects from the ground up.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control documentation.
- Help with report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal processing.
- Support surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing updates.
- Track time, inventory, and schedules while monitoring subcontractor progress.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete project forms.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and contact vendors for proposals.
- Conduct site tours and report on project meetings.
- Perform manual labor, clerk duties, or assist technicians as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering degree program.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A team-player mindset and a desire to learn the construction business.
- Willingness to perform physical tasks and work in a safety-sensitive environment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment including a hardhat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Arizona.
- The position follows a rolling term schedule.
