About the role#
Sundt Construction is looking for an engineering student to join our Concrete Group. This internship provides hands-on experience on construction projects. You will participate in the daily activities required to build our projects while working alongside our team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control records.
- Help with report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging.
- Support surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
- Monitor schedules, track inventory, and assist with subcontractor coordination.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and contact vendors or subcontractors for proposals.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete forms.
- Observe and report on meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.
- Perform tasks as a manual laborer, helper, clerk, or technician assistant.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A team-oriented mindset and a strong curiosity about the construction industry.
- An interest in pursuing a career as a builder.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hardhat, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout a shift.
