About the role#
Sundt Construction is looking for engineering and construction management students to join our team as a CA Building Group Intern. This role provides hands-on experience on construction projects and offers a look into the daily operations of a builder. We are seeking students interested in a long-term career in the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, prepare shop drawings, and manage cost control records.
- Support report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal processing.
- Perform surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
- Help with time keeping, inventory control, schedule checking, and monitoring subcontractors.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete forms.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and contact vendors or subcontractors for proposals.
- Observe meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.
- Work as a manual laborer, clerk, or technician assistant as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to take on new challenges.
- Curiosity and a desire to learn the construction business.
Location & details#
- Location: San Diego, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: $23 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
- This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the use of personal protective equipment, including hardhats, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses.
