About the role#
Sundt Construction offers an internship program for students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration. This role provides exposure to the construction industry through hands-on participation in building projects. Interns work alongside experienced teams to gain practical experience in engineering and construction management.
What you'll do#
Interns support project teams through a variety of administrative and technical tasks. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control records.
- Supporting report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging.
- Monitoring time keeping, inventory control, schedule checking, and subcontractor activities.
- Attending bid openings and conferences to document proceedings.
- Preparing quantity take-offs and requesting proposals from vendors and subcontractors.
- Performing general duties as a helper, clerk, or technician assistant.
- Conducting site tours and observing meeting results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A high level of curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as a team player in challenging environments.
- Capability to meet physical requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and safety glasses.
- Ability to stand, walk, or perform manual tasks for the duration of a shift.
