About the role#
Sundt Construction is seeking engineering and construction management students for a rolling internship program. This role provides exposure to challenging construction projects and offers the opportunity to participate in the various activities required to build complex structures. This is a paid, full-time position for students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration.
What you'll do#
Interns support project teams through a variety of administrative and field-based tasks. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project record keeping, shop drawing preparation, and cost control records.
- Supporting report preparation, safety inspections, and submittal logging.
- Monitoring subcontractors, checking schedules, and managing inventory.
- Assisting with surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing corrections.
- Preparing quantity take-offs and contacting vendors for proposals.
- Attending bid openings and conferences to document proceedings.
- Working as a helper or technician assistant as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as a team player and take on new challenges.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hardhats, and safety vests.
- Ability to stand, walk, and handle objects frequently throughout the shift.
