About the role#
As a Conservation and Grounds Intern at Summit Agricultural Group, you will gain hands-on experience in a large-scale farming operation. This role focuses on land and conservation management at our headquarters in Alden, Iowa. You will work across various areas of the business, including pork, beef, and crop production, and deliver a final presentation to the management team at the end of your term.
What you'll do#
- Maintain grassland, food plots, ponds, and timber areas using methods like prescribed burning, planting, mowing, spraying, and tree shearing.
- Manage dripline irrigation and provide care for newly planted trees.
- Prepare seed beds, seed bluegrass, and handle general lawn maintenance.
- Operate company equipment and perform routine repairs.
- Use Excel to track project data and organize work.
- Communicate with the team to coordinate daily activities.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in using email and web search tools.
- Strong writing and proof-reading skills.
- A focus on quality and a helpful customer service approach.
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture-related major.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Alden, Iowa.
- The term is rolling.
