About the role#
The Assistant Director of Student Union Programming leads the planning and execution of weekly programs and large-scale annual events. This role manages the department budget and oversees the Student Union Information Center. You will work under the direction of the Director of the Events Center to foster student engagement and support campus community life.
What you'll do#
- Plan and execute a variety of events including concerts, comedy shows, multicultural programs, and movie nights.
- Manage the annual department budget, including expense tracking and event settlements.
- Supervise two full-time program and event coordinators plus student assistants.
- Negotiate and execute contracts for vendors, performers, and sponsors while ensuring compliance with university policies.
- Evaluate program success through surveys, focus groups, and participant feedback.
- Coordinate with campus departments and student organizations to produce events like Homecoming and orientation sessions.
- Work with the risk management team to enforce safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Support event promotion across digital platforms and marketing channels.
- Serve on campus-wide committees to represent the Student Union.
