About the role#
The Fixed Income Strategies Group manages approximately $18 billion across various portfolios, including High Yield credit and Leveraged Loans. The Leveraged Credit team is seeking a Summer Analyst for the summer of 2027 to gain hands-on experience in institutional credit investing. This role provides exposure to fundamental credit analysis, financial modeling, and portfolio monitoring, alongside cross-strategy learning opportunities with the Structured Products, Investment Grade, Rates, and Trading teams.
What you'll do#
- Conduct financial and credit analysis of current and prospective high-yield and leveraged loan investments.
- Review company financial statements, operating performance, and industry trends.
- Use approved AI and automation tools to streamline research synthesis, data organization, and analytical tasks.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support investment recommendations.
- Prepare written research, credit memos, and verbal presentations for senior staff.
- Participate in the investment process, including idea generation, due diligence, and ongoing risk assessment of portfolio holdings.
- Monitor market, industry, and company-specific developments that impact creditworthiness.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of corporate finance and accounting.
- Interest in credit markets, specifically high yield, leveraged loans, and structured products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in developing AI-enabled workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate investment views.
- Exposure to financial tools like Bloomberg, Octus, S&P Capital IQ, Moodys Research, CreditSights, or Pitchbook is a plus.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and in a team.
