About the role#
The Florida Department of Transportation is hiring an intern to assist the legal team in District 3. This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours of work per week. You will support the office by handling research, documentation, and administrative tasks related to agency policies and legal proceedings.
What you'll do#
- Research issues within Florida Statutes, agency policies, and regulations.
- Prepare reports and deliver legal documents to the County Courthouse.
- Assist with the preparation of eminent domain motions and legal memoranda.
- Proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Organize files, maintain logs, and input data.
- Help respond to public records requests and subpoenas.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
- Ability to understand and apply legal principles, rules, and regulations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Relevant academic background in Criminal Justice, Political Science, History, English, or Communications.
