    About the role#

    The Florida Department of Transportation is hiring an intern for the District 3 Panama City Construction office. This is a part-time, paid position offering 20 hours of work per week. The role is open to students pursuing degrees in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in reviewing engineering assignments.
    • Verify field computation books and plan quantity items.
    • Create and maintain project documentation and logs.
    • Help develop Work Orders and Supplemental Agreements.
    • Coordinate and process monthly estimates for contractors.
    • Use engineering, drafting, surveying, or architectural tools and instruments.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be at least 18 years old.
    • You must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
    • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and mainframe programs.
    • Knowledge of engineering principles and terminology.
    • Ability to solve problems and communicate technical information clearly.
    • Capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Commitment to following all Department policies, statutes, and the Code of Ethics.

    • This position is located on-site in Panama City, Florida.
    • This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
