About the role#
This internship position works under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer within the District Structure Maintenance Office. You will help improve and create processes related to structures management and analysis. This role offers exposure to technical and managerial situations to help you build professional skills in engineering and project management.
What you'll do#
- Improve the efficiency of structures field reviews and inspections.
- Enhance data processing and management.
- Evaluate and provide ideas to improve current GIS applications.
- Create and update Excel macros for data analysis and project planning reports.
- Assist in updating and creating project and contract cost estimates.
- Complete data research and generate recommendation reports.
- Initiate process improvement recommendations.
- Participate in field inspections and reviews to gain hands on knowledge.
- Attend technical and management meetings to understand office goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Major in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Bridge Inspection/Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least eighteen years of age.
- Authorization to work in the United States with valid identification.

- Location: Miami, Florida.

- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: $15 to $20 per hour.
- Schedule: Part-time (16 hours per week).
