About the role#
The State of Florida Department of Transportation is hiring an intern for the District Four office. This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week. Interns gain practical experience in the transportation industry while exploring career paths in engineering, business, or public administration. You will shadow subject matter experts and learn how different units contribute to the state transportation system.
What you'll do#
- Assist with various tasks across different departments.
- Conduct research and provide insights to support agency initiatives.
- Interact with executive leadership, project managers, and external partners.
- Participate in team projects and contribute to agency goals.
- Complete technical tasks within a chosen focus track, such as engineering, transportation operations, or business administration.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Active enrollment in or acceptance to an accredited university, college, or vocational school.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple work assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities.

- Location: West Palm Beach, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.25 per hour.
- Schedule: 20 hours per week.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawfully authorized alien workers. Visa sponsorship is not available.
