About the role#
This internship position with the Florida Department of Transportation in District 3 offers part-time experience in materials and research. You will assist the team with technical lab operations while gaining exposure to state transportation projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform materials laboratory testing and enter results into the department database.
- Maintain, clean, and calibrate testing equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Organize the workspace to keep surfaces clean and safe for all team members.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of engineering tools, equipment, or instruments.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and navigate uneven terrain without assistance.

- This position is located in Chipley, Florida.
- This is an on-site, part-time role with a rolling term.
- The position is paid at $15 per hour.
