About the role#
The State of Florida Department of Transportation offers an internship program for students interested in government administration and transportation systems. What you'll do#
- Assist with tasks across multiple departments to support daily operations.
- Conduct research and provide insights to support agency initiatives.
- Interact with executive leadership, project managers, and external partners.
- Participate in team projects and contribute to agency goals.
- Perform technical tasks within a selected focus track, such as Engineering, Transportation, or Business.
- Shadow team members to learn how different units fit into the production process.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Actively enrolled in or accepted to an accredited university, college, or vocational school.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple assignments.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- Schedule: This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.25 per hour.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position.
