About the role#
The Florida Department of Transportation is hiring a part-time intern for the District Roadway Design office in Chipley. This role supports the development of transportation infrastructure through technical assistance and project documentation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and preparation of contract plans and specifications.
- Perform quality control reviews, permit reviews, and Local Agency Program (LAP) reviews.
- Conduct field reviews, field evaluations, and data collection.
- Review project estimates and document customer service requests.
- Prepare and present design details and concepts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program.
- Knowledge of CADD tools and automated office software.
- Understanding of Highway Design concepts, terminology, and analytical techniques.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally.
- Skill in building effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Location: Chipley, Florida.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time (20 hours per week).
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
- Status: Paid internship with rolling term.
