About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience in the transportation industry. You will work within different units of the department to support agency goals and contribute to ongoing projects under direct supervision.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine tasks across various work units.
- Engage in research and provide insights to support department initiatives.
- Interact with executive leadership, project managers, and team members.
- Participate in team projects and contribute to the agency mission.
- Gain exposure to specific focus tracks including Engineering, Transportation, Business, or a self-designed area of interest.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, with majors such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or Political Science.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to understand and apply rules, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Location: Bartow, Florida.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: Part-time, 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
