Gain hands–on experience with an extraordinary, historic collection featuring early 20th-century Chinese art, modern European and American paintings, Japanese wood block prints and works on paper.ROLE OVERVIEW:The intern will work closely with an Art Consultant and assist with the documentation and inventory of a private, diverse fine art collection of approximately 300 items.Responsibilities include:Creating condition reports on art and framingPhotograph of the artNote and categorize artworks by subject matterEnter and update information in Microsoft ExcelCompare information against existing inventory records and fill in any missing dataEnsure locations are currentREQUIREMENTS:Proficient in Microsoft ExcelAbility to work independently and responsiblyCommitment 12-16 hours a week in Midtown Manhattan, New YorkFamiliarity with handling fine art (preferred, not required)Pursuing or holds a degree in Art History or Fine Arts (preferred, not required)OPPERTUNITY:Gain hands-on experience with a diverse fine art collectionBuild skills in art handling, documentation, and inventorySupportive and professional corporate work environmentPaid Internship $24-$28 per hourStarr is an equal opportunity employer, which means we'll consider all suitably qualified applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic.
