About the role#
As a Transportation Engineering Intern, you will join our team in Austin to support infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced practitioners on highway, bridge, traffic, and airport development projects. This role involves working in an open-concept office setting, with potential for local travel to visit project sites or attend meetings.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in preparing contract documents and project reports.
- Perform computer aided design and drafting.
- Check drawings and technical calculations.
- Conduct quantity take-offs.
- Perform simple structural calculations.
- Participate in field inspections.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in at least your junior year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in civil or structural engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, structural design software, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage your time well and handle multiple tasks.
