About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Chandler, Arizona. You will work on structural engineering tasks for building projects. The role involves working independently on smaller projects and contributing to larger team efforts under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer.
What you'll do#
- Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
- Create designs in Revit for the structural discipline.
- Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and project materials.
- Perform basic calculations to analyze and design individual building components.
- Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines.
- Assist with data collection and information gathering to support design decisions.
- Perform field work as directed by senior staff.
- Assist with engineering duties across projects of varying complexity.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Completion of junior-level coursework, including design courses in steel and concrete.
- Understanding of structural engineering concepts and the ability to communicate ideas effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, Enercalc, RISA, and SAP.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and building programs.
- Capacity for creative and critical thought within a team setting.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
