About the role#
As a Project Coordinator Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the coordination, planning, and execution of large-scale transportation projects. You will work alongside project managers and technical specialists to learn the fundamentals of project delivery. This role offers the chance to explore how multidisciplinary teams manage complex infrastructure programs from early planning through design and construction support.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers and engineers in the preparation of project documentation, coordination of design deliverables, and tracking of project progress.
- Organize project data, maintain schedules, and prepare presentations or reports for internal and client meetings.
- Contribute to the design and development of technical deliverables.
- Participate in research, data analysis, and technical studies.
- Assist with proposal development and other business development initiatives.
- Support site visits or construction coordination activities to observe how designs translate into real-world implementation.
- Work in a manner that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of employees, clients, and the public.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure development.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in both written and verbal contexts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to adapt to new tools, processes, and project requirements.
- Ability to occasionally visit project sites and observe construction activities.
- Coursework or exposure to transportation, infrastructure design, or construction management topics is preferred.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is an asset.
