About the role#
As a Project Coordinator Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale transportation projects. You will work alongside project managers and technical specialists to learn the fundamentals of project delivery from early planning through construction support. This role is based in our Raleigh office and includes occasional local site visits.
What you'll do#
- Support project managers and engineers by preparing project documentation and tracking progress.
- Coordinate design deliverables and contribute to the development of technical work.
- Organize project data and maintain schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and client meetings.
- Participate in research, data analysis, and technical studies.
- Assist with proposal development and business development initiatives.
- Support site visits or construction coordination to observe real-world implementation.
- Promote the health, safety, and well-being of employees, clients, and the public.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure development.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Ability to occasionally visit project sites.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering or construction environment is an asset.
- Coursework in transportation, infrastructure design, or construction management is preferred.
