About the role#
Stantec is hiring a Process Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our Facilities & Process Engineering team to support Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing projects. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Burlington, Massachusetts or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs.
- Specify process equipment and instrumentation for quotation.
- Coordinate with process designers to incorporate equipment into projects and develop General Arrangement drawings.
- Assist with 3D facility design and equipment layouts, including the creation of sketches.
- Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support.
- Work alongside other disciplines and construction trades.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of relevant engineering intern experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and at least one of the following: AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, or Navisworks.
- Ability to visualize and layout process plants and piping in 3D.
- Experience developing and working from Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A basic understanding of task hour estimating.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
