About the role#
Stantec is hiring a Chemical Engineering Intern for the Industrial Water practice in Alpharetta, Georgia. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site with a team that manages water systems across industries like power, manufacturing, and food and beverage.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project delivery team with research, documentation, and project administration.
- Develop spreadsheet calculations, including mass balances.
- Create process engineering documents such as flow diagrams, P&IDs, engineering lists, process data sheets, and performance specifications.
- Conduct bench scale treatability tests in the office or the Alpharetta lab.
- Perform site inspections, construction observations, and support start-up and commissioning activities.
- Assist with environmental permitting, monitoring, and report preparation.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Write summaries of your work and assist with permit applications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited bachelor's or master's Chemical Engineering program.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- A highly motivated approach to your work.
- Experience with AutoCAD or process modeling software is preferred but not required.
