About the role#
Stantec is hiring a Chemical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in either Charlotte, North Carolina, or Alpharetta, Georgia. You will join the Industrial Water practice to support projects across industries like power, manufacturing, and food and beverage.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project delivery team with research, administration, and report preparation.
- Develop spreadsheet calculations, including mass balances.
- Create process engineering documents such as flow diagrams, P&IDs, engineering lists, data sheets, and performance specifications.
- Conduct bench scale treatability tests in the lab or on-site.
- Perform site inspections, construction observations, and support startup and commissioning activities.
- Help with environmental permitting, monitoring, and reporting.
- Attend project meetings and prepare minutes.
- Write summaries of your work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited bachelor’s or master’s Chemical Engineering program.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- High level of motivation.
- Experience with AutoCAD or process modeling software is preferred but not required.
