About the role#
Stantec is seeking a Mining Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in our Chandler, Arizona office, you will join our infrastructure engineering team to support clients on feasibility studies and detailed engineering projects for both underground and surface mining operations.
What you'll do#
- Follow Stantec safety culture requirements and comply with all health and safety regulations for both the company and our clients.
- Develop an understanding of relevant safety codes, regulations, and guidelines.
- Prepare technical documents, mine designs, mine plans, and financial models that meet Stantec standards.
- Contribute to the design and costing of the mining cycle.
- Collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering and design team.
- Participate in project meetings and perform office tasks to ensure project delivery on schedule.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in mining engineering or a related field.
- A strong interest in gaining mining-specific experience.
- Ability to work as a self-starter within a team setting.
- Familiarity with mine design or planning software like Vulcan, Minesite, MinePlan, Carlson, or Deswik is an asset.
