About the role#
Stantec is seeking a Lighting Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Lighting Design group. This role offers hands-on experience in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to contribute to lighting designs, fixture selection, and documentation for diverse building projects.
What you'll do#
- Produce lighting layouts in Revit.
- Perform photometric calculations using AGI32 or LightStanza software.
- Calculate energy code compliance.
- Develop presentation materials, renderings, and graphic packages.
- Create luminaire schedules and pull product specification sheets.
- Develop and review project mock-ups.
- Write reports and collaborate with the design team.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 4-year degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Architecture with a focus on lighting design.
- Competent knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with photometric calculation software such as LightStanza, AGI32, photometric toolbox, and IES files.
- Familiarity with BIM applications including SketchUp, Enscape, Navisworks, Lumion, and Rhino.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
- A can-do approach to project assignments and the ability to research design options.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Primarily on-site with occasional hybrid remote work.
