About the role#
Stantec is seeking an intern to support our groundwater team. You will assist with project-level work related to environmental remediation and water resource initiatives. This role focuses on groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, hydrogeologic investigations, and statistical analysis of environmental data.
What you'll do#
- Compile and manage field data for project use.
- Assist with data analysis and visualization using ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
- Interpret environmental and groundwater data.
- Conduct geologic and hydrogeologic research.
- Collaborate with scientific and engineering professionals.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Organize data for groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling.
- Create soil boring logs and well construction diagrams.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a BS or MS degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, geological engineering, geochemistry, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Practical ability to analyze technical data, perform research, and solve problems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including writing and graphic presentation.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
