About the role#
Our Global Mining team is looking for a Hydrogeologist Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work within our mining, minerals, and metals team to support projects related to underground and surface mining operations. This role involves conceptual and numerical groundwater modeling, field studies, and support for aquifer storage, water supply, and well testing projects.
What you'll do#
- Work with a multi-discipline team of hydrogeologists, hydrologists, and engineers.
- Participate in team and project meetings while engaging with project managers and technical leads.
- Contribute to the development of hydrogeologic conceptual and numerical groundwater models.
- Handle pre- and post-processing of model inputs and results.
- Evaluate model calibration performance and sensitivity.
- Collect and analyze field data, including well installation and drilling data.
- Perform pumping test analysis and well sampling.
- Prepare technical documents and drawings.
- Produce a technical report or presentation for your project team.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or secondary degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
- Interest in gaining experience in quantitative and qualitative hydrogeology within the mining sector.
- Ability to handle technical and scientific reporting, presentations, and reviews.
- A self-starter mindset and the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Proficiency in software such as MODFLOW, ArcGIS, Aqtesolv, or Aquifer Test Pro is desired but not required.
