About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work with a team of engineers on projects for public and private sector clients. You will perform tasks to develop your technical skills in the electrical discipline while working under the supervision of experienced engineers. This role involves assisting with the design of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems for various facilities.
What you'll do#
- Prepare contract drawings, calculations, specifications, and schedules from conceptual design to construction documents.
- Use software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel to complete project tasks.
- Participate in a Summer Intern Design Project alongside interns from other building design disciplines.
- Coordinate with cross-discipline professionals on assigned projects.
- Ensure the quality of project deliverables while following department production guidelines.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems.
- Support team operations and promote a culture of health and safety.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles and calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF editing software like Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
- Ability to learn and develop skills in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems using professional judgment and creativity.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and take initiative on tasks.
