About the role#
As a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will work in a team environment on water infrastructure projects. These include dams, levees, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater infrastructure. You will support local and national projects for clients such as municipalities, state government agencies, and power utilities. This role involves both office-based design work and field-based geotechnical tasks.
What you'll do#
- Plan and coordinate geotechnical explorations.
- Assist engineers with reviewing boring logs and laboratory data.
- Execute geotechnical analysis and evaluate hazards for design and construction phases.
- Perform modeling and design activities for water infrastructure.
- Conduct construction observations and assist with geotechnical field work.
- Use CAD and other design programs for basic tasks.
- Support project administration by writing reports, drafting proposals, tracking costs, and compiling project data.
- Perform other engineering and administrative duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and follow direction.
- A willingness to learn.

- Environment: You will work in an office setting with computers, but the role also includes field work that may involve exposure to inclement weather.
