About the role#
As a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will work in a team environment on water infrastructure projects. These include dams, levees, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater systems. This role is for students who want to support local and national projects for municipalities, government agencies, and industrial clients. You will have opportunities to work both in the office and in the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning and coordinating geotechnical explorations.
- Perform modeling and design tasks for water infrastructure projects.
- Help engineers review boring logs and laboratory data.
- Execute geotechnical analysis and evaluate hazards for design and construction phases.
- Gain exposure to CAD and other design software.
- Perform construction observations and assist with geotechnical field work.
- Handle project administration, such as writing reports, drafting proposals, tracking costs, and compiling project data.
What you'll need#
- You must be in progress toward a bachelor degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and take direction.
- A willingness to learn.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Work environment: You will spend time in a typical office setting, but field work may involve exposure to the elements and inclement weather.
