About the role#
As a Civil or Environmental Engineering Intern, you will join a team focused on water infrastructure projects. This role involves working on tasks related to water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, conveyance pipelines, and urban drainage models. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term with the possibility of transitioning into longer-term employment.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and designers in preparing calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings for bidding and construction.
- Use CAD and BIM software to prepare and edit project drawings.
- Support field investigations in a team setting.
- Provide engineering services during the construction phase of water infrastructure projects.
- Handle word processing, documentation, and various administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Coursework or exposure to fluid hydraulics, treatment processes, construction management, or technical writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- General understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D (REVIT experience is a plus).
- Strong communication skills and a desire to network with team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, take direction, and meet deadlines.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Location & details#
This position is on-site at one of our offices in South Burlington, VT; Providence, RI; Hartford, CT; or Auburn, NH. You will work in a typical office environment with some field work that may involve exposure to weather elements. Safety training will be provided for all field activities.
