About the role#
Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term to join our Community Development Group in Mequon, Wisconsin. You will work within a team environment on projects such as urban planning, roadway design, infrastructure, and storm water management. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Use technical skills to complete civil components for various projects.
- Assist with the preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and other deliverables.
- Help with CAD drafting, design, and the creation of construction documents.
- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with engineering principles and project documents.
- Procure permits and approvals from relevant agencies.
- Communicate with clients, construction staff, and other project stakeholders.
- Attend meetings as needed and complete detailed reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of basic AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and follow direction.
- A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and access to a vehicle.
- An interest in community development disciplines like planning, infrastructure, hydrology, or surveying.

- Location: Mequon, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: This position involves both on-site and remote work. Some roles may require remote work, with housing and meal per diems provided by the company.
- Environment: You will work in an office setting and perform field work, which may include exposure to inclement weather.
