About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on water infrastructure projects, including dams, levees, water and wastewater piping, pump stations, and stormwater systems. This role offers the chance to support local and national projects for clients such as municipalities, power utilities, and government agencies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project administration, including writing reports, drafting proposals, tracking costs, and completing progress reports.
- Help technical staff by researching, compiling, and evaluating project data.
- Perform calculations for design projects.
- Complete modeling and design activities for water infrastructure.
- Gain experience using CAD, GIS, and other design programs.
- Perform construction observations and assist with field work as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and take direction.
- A willingness to learn.

- This position is located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- This is an on-site, full-time internship.
- Office work involves desk-based computer tasks, while field work may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
