About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will join a team supporting civil infrastructure projects from design through construction. You will work on projects involving civil site development, stormwater systems, water and wastewater conveyance, and pump stations. This position is for Summer 2027 and requires working on-site in Coral Gables, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for civil site design, drainage, and pump station projects.
- Assist with design deliverables, including plans, reports, specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Review client and industry design standards to support engineering designs.
- Perform civil engineering tasks such as pump station hydraulic calculations, gravity pipeline design, and appurtenance design.
- Conduct drainage calculations and stormwater modeling for site design and permitting.
- Research, compile, and evaluate project data to support technical staff.
- Prepare and compile permit applications for regulatory agencies.
- Participate in construction observations and field work as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be working toward a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Coursework or exposure to infrastructure planning, design, construction management, or environmental engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A willingness to learn and take direction.

- This role is based in Coral Gables, Florida.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- You will work in an office environment with occasional field work that may include exposure to weather elements.
