About the role#
We are looking for a civil or environmental engineering intern to support our Water business during the Summer of 2027. You will work in a team environment in either our Salt Lake City or St. George, Utah offices. This role provides exposure to water resources projects, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and other infrastructure design.
What you'll do#
- Collect and organize project data.
- Prepare calculations, charts, and graphs.
- Perform modeling using Excel or hydraulic modeling software.
- Prepare and backcheck drawings and technical memoranda.
- Write portions of technical memoranda and research technical information.
- Assist with proposal and resume writing.
- Participate in client interactions, presentations, and note taking.
- Conduct field investigations.
- Coordinate the production of reports.
- Support the development of design documents, including plans and specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university, or be on summer break between semesters.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to assist staff with various tasks.
- Ability to work with versatility and flexibility within a team.
- Initiative to take on tasks as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with PowerPoint skills as a bonus.
- Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- A positive attitude and the ability to build professional relationships.
- Flexibility to learn new skills.
