About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will join our team to work on water infrastructure projects. These include dams, levees, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater systems. You will support a multi-disciplinary team on projects for local municipalities, government agencies, and industrial clients. This position is based in Charlotte for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project administration, including writing reports, drafting proposals, tracking costs, and managing correspondence.
- Support technical staff by researching, compiling, and evaluating project data.
- Perform design calculations and modeling for water infrastructure.
- Gain experience with CAD, GIS, and other design software.
- Conduct construction observations and assist with field work as needed.
- Complete other engineering and administrative tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You have strong communication skills and work well with others.
- You can prioritize tasks, follow direction, and manage multiple assignments.
- You have a strong desire to learn.
