About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will gain exposure to water infrastructure projects, including dams, levees, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater systems. You will work on projects for local municipalities, state agencies, and industrial clients.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project administration, including writing reports, drafting proposals, and tracking project costs.
- Support technical staff by researching, compiling, and evaluating project data and performing design calculations.
- Perform modeling and design activities for water infrastructure.
- Gain experience with CAD, GIS, and other design software.
- Conduct construction observations and assist with field work as needed.
- Complete additional engineering and administrative tasks as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and take direction.
- A willingness to learn.

- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site role. You will work in an office environment with some potential for field work involving exposure to the elements.
- Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
