About the role#
This internship offers a chance to work with the mechanical engineering teams at Stanley Black & Decker. You will gain exposure to the product lifecycle while collaborating with groups like product design, testing, quality, and manufacturing. The role is based in Towson, Maryland, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of hand and power tools.
- Use CAD software to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product designs.
- Support prototyping and testing efforts for new designs.
- Analyze product performance, durability, and safety to identify improvements.
- Optimize designs for efficient manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong academic credentials and the ability to manage school work alongside extracurricular activities.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Ability to work on-site in Towson, Maryland.
