About the role#
This internship offers a chance to work with industrial designers on product development. You will join a team of professionals to support various projects and gain experience in 3D surfacing. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Valley City, Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Develop adaptable parametric surface models for new products using CATIA.
- Support the team by using data reuse techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
- Learn and apply 3D modeling best practices.
- Manage 3D CAD data through a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
- Contribute to multiple projects and help the team meet milestones and deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD systems and an interest in surface creation.
- Strong aesthetic sense with the ability to turn 2D sketches into 3D models.
- Basic understanding of design for manufacturing.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and balance multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated approach with good time management.
- Experience with CATIA is a plus, though training is provided.

- Compensation: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
